Who we are
Over the course of 40 years, Hardware Now has become a pillar of every community we reside with one goal in mind: Provide Builders and DIYers the products and services they need to get the job done.
In 1983, John Harper Sr. left his construction job to become a general contractor. During this time, John realized the community was in bigger need of a hardware store that could support the rapid growth of his town. In 1989, Hardware Now opened its doors for business.
Our Timeline
In 1991, Hardware Now opened it's second location in Largo, Florida. John knew there were more towns in need of this type of hardware store, so he continued to work on his plans to expand the business to communities like Bartow and Largo.
In 1997, Hardware Now opened three more stores in the midwest: St. Towers City, South Dakota, Zion, Illinois, and Roundup, Montana.
In 2010, Hardware Now opened it's first store in Ontario Canada that also included the largest lumber yard outside of all the Hardware Now stores.
In 2015, Hardware now opened two stores, one in Newark, New Jersey and Washington, DC.
In 2020, we reached a total of 1,000 employees across all stores!
